1. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
No Freddy Krueger fans who don't know this famous opening scene of the movie.
A Nightmare on Elm Street original released in....just the right time, just the right corner. I feel like this is a stand alone movie whether or not there are sequels for this movie. But this movie is just really stand out. The idea of the glove was made by Lou Carlucci, along with special mechanical effects Jim Doyle. The idea of this glove is to make silhouette of creepiness and talons.
This glove is being replicated until today to find a perfect match from the original glove. There are several glove makers tried to replicated this glove.
The best glove makers to get the exact replica of Part 1 glove is Jameson Michael Knapp over darkdreamdesign.com for $250 + shipping.
When the first film arrived on screen there was nothing like the
weapon seen here. It was primal and evoked images of talons and claws, but the
construction was conceived as using things found in a boiler room or basement,
hence the copper pipes and general “Scrap parts” look used in the opening scene
of the film. This glove is built using type-M copper pipe used to make the
original glove with brazing to affix the blades to the tips rather than solder
resulting in authentic red coloring specific to the glove used in the first
film and authentically colored and weathered Carolina leather including
additional hole patterns
2. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985)
The second instalment from the first movie. The glove is pretty much the same, except cleaner.
The best glove maker to get the exact replica of Part 2 glove is Mark Petrie over knifegloves.com for $250 + shipping.
By the time the sequel film was made, many changes
appeared on the hero prop which are faithfully captured here. Many elements
only seen on the glove in the first film were changed, such as the removal of most
of the weathering, resulting in a lighter colored glove. Gone is much of the
backplate coloring and dark tones of the fingers as well as much of the reds on
the tips resulting in a more dirty brownish weathering, and new details
appeared such as small holes on the ring finger tip for a proposed ring replacement
using wire, new larger replacement cap leather rivets on the middle and pinkie
fingers used to affix the fingers to the back plate as well for the index
finger hinges were used. Additionally, the middle ring and pinkie finger tips
were reshaped. The backplate was also reshaped giving it a new bend profile.
After shooting the movie, the glove mysteriously disappear. No one know where it went and stay missing for two and a half decades. Then the glove was found by Mike Becker on an online auction for $650 because it was listed as A Nightmare on Elm Street 5 stunt glove.
There it is....the one and only original Freddy glove has been found.
3. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987)
It's a lot smaller and the blades is shorter with rounded tips. It's also using different style leather glove. The stalls and backplate is more charred than ever.
The best glove maker to get the exact replica of Part 3 glove is Robbie Atkinson over terrorgloves.com for $175 + shipping.
This
glove is replicated as seen worn by Freddy Krueger in Nightmare on Elm St 3
Dream Warriors. The finger stalls are cut and hand shaped from Type M copper
pipe. The Back plate is cut and hand shaped from Brass. The blades are 16 gauge
laser cut stainless steel so they will never rust or corrode. The leather on
this glove has the correct inner seam on the index finger.
4. A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: Dream Master (1988)
Now this one look from the deepest hell. This glove is very different than the first 3 movie and the backplate is a lot bigger with much shorter finger stalls.
The best glove maker to get the exact replica of Part 4 glove is Mike Becker, contact his facebook for pricing.
Coming from the
burned corpse of a madman buried in consecrated ground in a junk yard comes
this charred masterpiece. In the fourth outing the glove changed yet again. No
longer resembling it’s original incarnations, this glove features a more
battered look with heavily dented fingers as well as the first appearance of
the “solder spills” that will dominate the look of the glove for the next two
films. Additionally this glove features a heavily charred weathering on the
backplate and even more red staining on the tips that continues on the stalls
which now feature specific dark staining on the flats and meticulously
replicated dark staining resulting in the famous black swirls on the index and
middle finger stalls.
5. A Nightmare on Elm
Street 5: Dream Child (1989)
I'm not sure about this one, this glove was made....not a straight up when you think of Freddy Krueger, even the movie itself but whatever. There it is.
The best glove maker to get the exact replica of Part 5 glove is Brian Sills over DGW (Demented Glove Works), contact his facebook for pricing.
Continuing on many
of the design elements of the Part 5, this glove features
similar shaping along with continuing with the solder spills seen in the
previous film but with a new backplate shape marking the first appearance of
the “six point fold” creases that will continue on into the next film. One of
the biggest changes that sets this glove apart is a more “clean look” with
minimal weathering to the entire armature and leather as well as shortened
tangs on the blades that no longer reach all the way to the stalls.
6. Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare
(1991)
Don't even start with this one. The worst Nightmare movie of all time and poorly written script, even poor Freddy's makeup and funky looking glove, but.....there it is.
The best glove maker to get the exact replica of Part 6 glove is Jameson Michael Knapp over darkdreamdesign.com for $250 + shipping.
While very similar to
one of the gloves used in the previous film, this glove features all new finger
tips with heavily soldered on blades, this time carved from butter knives that
have been shaped with a very unique profile with no two blades being the same.
The fingers themselves are some of the most warped and misshaped ever seen in
the film series with very specific build characteristics giving the fingers a
much longer look ending as much as 3/4 inch past the leather which now is
colored to a more faded tan leaning towards gray. Additionally the glove has a
more dirty weathering than the previous film, especially on the tips where the
heavy solder spills add to the more rough look of the glove.
7. Wes Craven's New
Nightmare (1994)
This movie is better than Part 5 and Part 6. Much more demonic and yes...created by the man Wes Craven (RIP). The Claw is more than just a glove, it's a flesh claw with bones, steel claws coming out of finger tips also for the thumb.
The best glove maker to get the exact replica of New Nightmare glove is Anders Eriksen over nightmaregloves, contact his facebook for pricing (about $700 + shipping).
For the last movie Wes Craven made, the glove is menacing and the steel claws is much more ferocious. The hand part is made out of silicone and the resin bones are molded for accuracy. The paint job is just spot on and dead on as we see on screen. Anders goes beasting making a true replica of New Nightmare glove. Once you put it on, you never wanna take it off.
8. Freddy VS Jason (2003)
This movie is not better than New Nightmare and goes out ridiculous but...still cool to see them fight. The glove however...is a beast.
The best glove maker to get the exact replica of VS glove is Robbie Atkinson over terrorgloves.com for $275 + shipping.
Upon the burned
maniac’s return in 2003, a new glove was built hearkening back to some earlier
designs but this time, built for war. Made using MUCH thicker 1/8th inch steel
blades with hand ground, heavy double beveled edges, mirrored and soldered to
an all Type-L Copper pipe construction used for the fingers, backplate and
rings which have been aged to a nearly black finish, makes this glove a beast.
To top it all off, Versus uses a specific style leather glove with three seams
running down the back and featuring a palm hole and cut off finger tips
authentic to the make and model production used gloves.
9.
A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) > Remake
Still better than Part 5 and Part 6 even better than Freddy VS Jason.
Even Robert Englund not playing in this movie, this movie still much darker and
mysterious. Freddy played by Jackie Earl Haley. Even still not as good as
Robert, but decent. The glove man.....killer.
The best glove maker to get the exact replica of Remake glove is Joe D. Mack over k4fgloves.com. for $450 + shipping.
Joe D Mack DELUXE
Remake glove is finally here! Made by the master glove maker of the 2010
Nightmare On Elm Street remake, the DELUXE is Joe's most "accurate"
glove to date. No short cuts, no rushing, all the details are here... straight
from movie templates, hand and machined parts just like the production gloves.
Lathed finger caps, lathed cuff hinges, correct copper thickness, beautifully
weathered, deep blade bevels, correct leather and more.... This is as close as
you are going to get to owning a production glove PERIOD. Each glove is signed and
numbered by Joe on the cuff.
There are other Freddy gloves out there used for the films such as stunt gloves, secondary hero gloves. But all the gloves i mentioned above are the one that iconic from each movie.
